Rap music has lived longer than we thought. In art everything is recycled (many times stolen and recycled). We have had bell bottoms make a return in fashion, the bringing back of muscle cars on the road, big haired metal bands making come backs in concert and Neo-soul is … new soul music. Of course, many are aware that hip hop culture and music began in the Boogie Down Bronx in the 70s, but the style or monotonous melody delivery may have been the father high even further back. The likes of social movement groups, like the last poets who released an album on the Billboard Charting the rhythmic voice of 1970, preceding the combination of letters over DJ breaks by delivering a lyrical flow of poetry to the beat of drums and ethnic instruments. The style is very similar to the current Def Poetry Jam series and other early American poets is not far from the African hip-hop beat. You can link traces of both the African Griots oral tradition.
Years ago rap was considered a fad to vanish like all the kids of cabbage. The genre of rap music has thoroughly spread throughout the world and not just arrive, but affects and relates to every culture. Many cultures stories are connected and deeply rooted in some influence of music, and the difference can be a bridge more. Before attending the University of Southern California, grew up on Long Island, NY. I was a product of the renaissance era of rap music. I grew up along with many others influential names of hip hop icons such as Rakim, Groove B Chill and Sweety G. Rakim himself was fond of jazz music and played baritone sax with me up and band jazz. My own interest and love for music ironically (because that's the whole saga tro 'explained in the future) led me to study music at the USC student taking some classes in jazz and classical music history. I once had a discussion with professor and chair of Jazz Studies Program, which refuses to believe and admit that rap is music. On the other side of the classic story, he had just learned that Arnold Schoenberg Sprechstimme is similar to a monotonous rap style flow chant in which there was no present melody just like the rap. This style of music dates back to early 1900 and is fully compatible for both music record was kept, cherished, analyzed and taught throughout the year as part of the German expressionist movement in poetry and art.
Music is studied and broken down. Many composers and musicians to learn to write music scores for dissection, study and analysis of music by other composers and musicians. Music theory is derived from the analysis of the common practices of the era of music and gender. Typical components analyzed in Music is his way, as intros and cadences, harmonies, rhythm patterns, changes in tempo or tonality, atonality and melody which are present in the beatings. My highly educated world renowned professor tells the class that rap is not music because it contains a melody. Rap is certainly not musically dissonant as the likes of Pierre Schaeffer Mosque of concrete, whose genius attempt to innovate the technology of music was hard to write on paper as classical music traditional, but may resemble more the expressionistic era as that of music theorist Arnold Schoenberg. Schoenberg Sprechstimme sang in a restricted way to maintain a steady pace unlike the ups and downs melodic contour most melodies they have when they are played or sung. An example of this would be Gurre-Lieder Schönberg or more works of Pierrot Lunaire. Rap can be notated the same as Schoenberg did for Sprechstimme. However, the rap actually has inflection in his speech. This is the relationship with some exotic scales in which a micro tonality exist like Burmese or Indonesian music. The rappers of today, like 50 Cent and Ja Rule have distinctive melodic flow. Groups like Bone Thugs and Harmony are actually harmonizing in their rap flow. Rappers like Nelly are practically singing or sprechgesang limit-Ing. Not to mention all The above has been nominated for a Grammy. It is always said "to know where it goes, should know where you are." Rap is today's urban music. Their techniques are deeply rooted in more than 100 years in American music.
History serves as a model that has been forged for us to learn. Does this say that Germany is the birthplace of rap music? Not quite, though Schoenberg is Austrian who is a well known early American composer, but that ends the debate for historians or ignorant professors on whether fashion is indeed in rap music. In a world where music is a huge part of life for everyone, many cultures have been influenced by and incorporate rap in their native language and music. Billions of dollars in benefits have been derived from rap, not only in ancient times as a style of music to last, but worthy and Honorary Degree in the success of hip hop can now afford to buy.
