In ancient Greece, the Mousikē word was used to refer any of the arts or science governed by the Muses. Later, in Rome, Ars Musica embraced poetry as an instrument for the music. In the Middle European Media, music was part of the quadrivium mathematics: arithmetic, geometry, astronomy and music. The concept of musica was split into three main types by the fifth-century philosopher, Boethius: musica universalis, human music, and music instrumentalism. Etymology

The music comes from the Greek word Mousikē (techne) through America created in "measure, number and weight." The proportions of the spheres of the planets and stars (which at that time is still thought to revolve around the earth) were perceived as a form of music, without of implying that any sound you can hear the music refers strictly to the mathematical proportions. From this concept later resulted in the Romantic idea of music of the spheres. Musica Humana, designated the human body proportions. These are intended to reflect the proportions of the heavens and as such, to be an expression of God's greatness. In medieval thought, all things connected to each other-a way of thinking that finds its traces today in the occult or esoteric thought ranging from astrology to believing certain minerals have certain beneficiary effects.

Music instrumentalis finally was the lowest of the three disciplines and referred to the manifestation of the same mathematical proportions in sound-whether sung or played on instruments. The organization different polyphonic ring tones to ring at the same time, it was still a relatively new invention, then, and it is understandable that the mathematical relationships or physical in frequency that give rise to the musical intervals as we hear, are among the main concerns of the musicians from the Middle Ages.
