Dragons in modern literature

First, what is a dragon?

Mythology, folk tales and religious myths from around the world involved dragons, Chinese Persian. 'Dragon' comes from 'Drakontos',' To Watch '- this might suggest that its true nature is divine, not evil!

Dragons are usually large and tend to breathe fire, however There are numerous accounts of dragons in a much smaller scale, as the dragon who guarded the fountain of Castalia, killed by Cadmus.

Dragons are still present in the Bible, Nebuchadnezzar (the Babylonian king who ruled at least 8 years) had a dragon caught stored in the temple of the god Bel.

Although Dragons do not usually appear in the past are evident in modern literature. A book can celebrate these amazing worlds that much more than a movie, where the effects come of imagination, not the pixels. In novels, poetry and drama seen dragons (general), either as divine beings or evil beings!

Inheritance 'Trilogy' (actually 4 books now!)

The Inheritance trilogy follows the life of Eragon, a young farmer who face to an unknown world of the "adventure, danger and evil – fighting alongside him, as the story unfolds is Saphira, his dragon.

In this example, Dragons are depicted as divine beings, precious beyond human contemplation.

Harry Potter the Goblet of Fire:

Anyone, any age, have heard of – if not seen or read a Harry Potter installment. In this particular story, Harry must overcome the force of a Hungarian Horntail! Naturally, this fire-breathing dragon and that's the general consensus … but still, many do not, and it is interesting to see how movies and books for more use young dragons breathing fire every generation time.

Poetry – The lament of a dragon:

I'm tired to be a dragon,
Fierce and fiery,
The cause of unspeakable terror
When someone mentions my name.
I'm bored with my bad reputation
Being a miserable beast,
And routinely expected.
To brazenly pillage and plunder.

I wish it were not repulsive,
Vile, vicious and cruel,
With claws for dismember
And finely fashioned fangs to pierce.
I lost my desire to
The facts any dragon to do,
But I can not change my nature,
I guess you just terrify me.
